For nearly 5500 years, the Word of God given in the Old Testament was known around the world. The confict started with Abraham, the father of Isaac and Ishmael. Ismael was a rebel and gave up his birthright. God promised Isaac the "chosen land" for eternity. This is the tiny sliver of real estate known as Israel. Thousands of years ago it was written that the descendents of Abraham -> Isaac -> and Jacob would have an everlasting convenant with God. They would have rights to the land, and the descendents of Ishmael (the man and the nation that would live and die by the sword) would have the remaining lands of the middle east... until the time of the end of this age when the Lord would set the people straight!
