Of That Day and Hour

Things that make you go, hmmmm.
Those that study the word have heard it many times:

No man can no the day or hour of Christ’s return. It comes from the book of Matthew:

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Matthew 24:36-39

We know that Jesus fulfilled all of the spring feasts on the exact day and hour. So, it would make sense that when He returns, He would come and fulfill the remaining fall festivals in the same manor and on the exact dates and times.

This is especially timely as there is a lot of talk in the prophetic community regarding this fall possibly being the start of the tribulation period. September 23rd 2015 is the “Day of Atonement” also called Yom Kippur.

What is interesting to know, is that in the tradition of Yom Kippur revolves around a 25 hour fast. The festival is actually “a day and an hour” or a 24-hour day plus one more hour.

This festival is known as “the festival of the day and an hour”.

Even more interesting is how many Jewish and Hebrew teachers actually translate this verse.

In other words, it may possibly be interpreted like this:

“Regarding what exactly is going to happen on that Yom Kippur (day plus an hour) no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.”

If we consider the verses in I Thessalonians 5:4-6

“But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness…so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.…”

We know that the day of the Lord will come like a thief to those that don’t know Him. But it seems like we’re to understand the day and the hour. That we’re even supposed to be alert and watching for it… so it doesn’t overtake us like a thief.

If you follow prophecy, you’ve heard a LOT of chatter about the 2015-2017 timeline. I think we should all be “alert and sober” during this period of time.

Sept 25: Interfaith Festival :: Dedicated as “Year of Light”

Sept 28: Final Blood Moon
